Central Region Team Serves with Kentucky Habitat for Humanity July 27, 2022

LEXINGTON, KY – Employees from the Central Region of Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. (Elliot), recently participated in a service project with Kentucky Habitat for Humanity, allowing them to give back to families in the Central Kentucky community they serve.

James Mink was the catalyst for the project and asked Greg Harrington to coordinate the effort and help in recruiting team members to participate. While discussing why they chose Kentucky Habitat for Humanity for the service project, Harrington stated, “It’s a great organization. You think about providing a place for a person to live. This is an opportunity for folks to have a safe, comfortable place to raise their kids as they grow.”

Along with Harrington, Brandon Brake, Mark Corman, Jake Green, Keith Grupke, Drew Harrington, Clay Mossbarger, James Simpson, Estill Smith, and Matt Watts participated in the effort.

Harrington is confident the opportunity to serve their community together will pay dividends as the team continues to grow. “Anytime that you serve on any type of project that betters the community, it builds your team. You break down barriers when you see each other putting sweat equity into a project,” Harrington added.

While this is not the first time this group from Elliot has served their community, the team believes this will be an experience they can draw on as they encourage others throughout the company to continue finding areas where they can make a difference. “We will always have this memory to look back on and talk about,” Harrington said, “and we can use it as a catalyst for future service projects with this organization and others.”
